Upgrade Host Kernels for ZStack Cloud 4.8.x

Scenario

• Product: ZCF
• Component: ZStack Cloud
• Version: 4.8.x
• Storage type: sharedblock
• Scope: x86 hosts only
• Current kernel: 4.19.90-25.21.v2101.ky10.x86_64
• Target kernel package: 4.19.90-25.54.tar.gz
• Trigger: Production x86 host kernels must be upgraded one by one. ARM hosts are outside this change scope.

Symptoms

• x86 host kernels must be upgraded.
• Other VM workloads must remain normal during the change.
• The target host must be restarted, so its VMs must be live-migrated first.

Assessment

1. Confirm that the target host has no running VM before upgrade.
2. Check whether uname -r changes to the target kernel after restart.
