Overview

The migration service migrates VM operating systems and data from a source platform to ZStack ZSphere. This chapter describes migration from VMware vSphere environments. The source platform provides the VMs to migrate, data gateways transfer migration data, and the target platform hosts the migrated VMs.

Before using the migration service, upload its installation package, deploy the service, and upload the required VDDK packages. Then add the source platform. When creating migration tasks, check the source VMs and configure target resources. After data synchronization, you can create test VMs to verify the migration results before performing cutover. After migration, remove migration snapshots and tasks as needed.
