Prerequisites
Before you use the backup feature in ZSphere, make sure that the license meets the requirements. Backup licenses take effect according to the following rules:
- A new installation includes a three-month trial license for backing up up to six VMs.
- In an upgraded environment, the backup license remains unchanged. If the original preset license was still in use before the upgrade, its quota and validity period remain unchanged after the upgrade.
- After a license update, the backup feature uses the quota and validity period provided by the new license.
After the number of protected VMs reaches the trial quota, purchase a module license to continue using the backup feature. ZSphere provides backup licenses by VM count or with an unlimited quota. The purchased quota replaces the trial quota. For example, if the trial quota is 6 and the purchased quota is 50, the effective quota is 50.
