Modify NFS Storage Configuration

After NFS storage is added, you can edit its name and description, adjust the data storage overcommit ratio, or modify the NFS storage disk preallocation policy as needed.

Common Entries

You can modify NFS storage configuration from the following entries:

  • Go to the target NFS storage page and click Actions > Edit Name and Description.
  • Go to the target NFS storage page, click Actions > Modify Advanced Settings.

Common Operations

Operation Description
Edit Name and Description Modify the name and description of NFS storage.
Modify Data Storage Overcommit Ratio

Controls the allocatable data storage space for virtual machines.

Calculation formula: Data storage allocatable capacity = [(actual capacity - reserved capacity) × overcommit ratio] - (threshold capacity + sum of all volumes allocated to virtual machines + snapshots + image cache + migration cache)

Modify NFS Storage Disk Preallocation Policy Sets the disk preallocation policy for NFS storage. Default: none.
  • none: Does not use a preallocation policy. With this policy, files are dynamically allocated the required space as needed.
  • metadata: Preallocates only the space required for file metadata and does not allocate space for data. With this policy, storage space required for the volume is dynamically allocated as data is written.
  • falloc: Preallocates the required space for the file but does not immediately erase data on the corresponding physical device. Erasure is performed when the virtual machine writes data to the volume for the first time.
  • full: Preallocates the required space for the file.
