Components and Their Relationships
The components of ZVF serve different roles in a virtualized environment. The following table describes their roles and relationships.
| Component | Roles and Relationships |
|---|---|
| ZSphere | Provides the virtualization foundation for ZVF. It organizes compute, storage, and network resources, and hosts and manages VMs. |
| ZStone | Provides distributed storage capabilities. Administrators can use the storage service in ZSphere to deploy or take over ZStone and manage the storage system and its resources. The storage system can also be added as data storage to provide storage capacity for VMs as needed. |
| ZMigrate | Provides migration services to move VM operating systems and data from supported source platforms to a target ZSphere environment. ZSphere provides the compute, storage, and network resources required to run the target VMs. |
| ZCenter | Connects to and manages one or more ZSphere environments, providing a unified resource view and management portal. ZCenter can be deployed through Platform Service in ZSphere. Centralized management tasks are performed in the ZCenter management interface. |
| ZLR | Provides dedicated disaster recovery orchestration for business continuity. |
