Manually Add Bare Metal Chassis
Add one or more bare metal chassis by specifying an IPMI address or an IPMI address range.
Before you begin
Make sure that the bare metal chassis are connected according to the planned network topology. For more information, see Preparation.Procedure
- In the navigation pane, choose .
- Right-click the target bare metal cluster and select Add Bare Metal Chassis.
- In the Select Bare Metal Chassis Addition Type dialog, select Manual Addition.
- Click Next.

In the Add Bare Metal Chassis dialog, configure the following options:
Option Description Name Enter a name for the bare metal chassis. Description Enter a brief description for the bare metal chassis. Bare Metal Cluster Select the bare metal cluster to which the chassis belongs. Addition Method Select how to add IPMI addresses. You can specify an IPMI address or an IPMI address range. IPMI Address/Range Enter an IPMI address or the start and end addresses of an IPMI address range. Port Enter the IPMI port. The default port is 623. Username Enter the IPMI username. Password Enter the IPMI password. Reboot Bare Metal Chassis Select whether to reboot the bare metal chassis to automatically obtain hardware information. This option is cleared by default. - Review the configuration and click OK.
