Platform Services Overview
Platform Service provides a unified component deployment and service management entry point for deploying and running ZCenter and ZLR services in ZSphere.
Platform services run on virtual machines. During deployment, the platform creates a service VM based on the installation package and resource configuration, installs the component, and checks the service status. After deployment, you can view the service and VM status in ZSphere and then go to the component to configure its features.
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| ZCenter Service | Deploys ZCenter to provide a unified management entry point for multiple virtualized environments. After deployment, add resources and perform centralized management in ZCenter. |
| ZLR Service | Deploys ZLR to provide disaster recovery protection, recovery drills, and failover orchestration. After deployment, configure disaster recovery sites and protection jobs in ZLR. |
Automatic ZCenter Database Backup
After ZCenter is deployed through Platform Service, the platform automatically backs up the ZCenter database at 00:00 every day and synchronizes the backup file to the ZSphere management node. The system retains only the latest automatic backup for database recovery.
Basic Workflow
- Upload the QCOW2 installation package for the component.
- Select the runtime location, storage, and network, and configure the service VM specifications.
- Deploy the service and wait for the platform to complete installation and status checks.
- View the service overview, manage the service VM, or go to the component management interface for further configuration.
