Manage Joined Hosts

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, choose Inventory > Network Resource.
  2. In the resource tree, select the target distributed switch.
  3. On the target distributed switch details page, click the Uplink tab.
  4. In the Joined Host list, select the target host.
    1. To add physical NICs to the bond, click Actions > Add Physical Port.
      Note:
      1. You can add only NICs that are not bonded.
      2. New NICs must have the same speed as existing NICs in the bond.
      3. A bond supports up to 8 physical NICs.
    2. To remove physical NICs from the bond, click Actions > Remove Physical Port.
Note: You cannot remove all physical NICs. At least one physical NIC must remain.
    3. To remove the host's entire uplink, click Actions > Disconnect Host Uplink.
      Note:
      1. Disconnecting a host uplink also deletes the bond on the host. Proceed with caution.
      2. Disconnecting a host uplink cascades to detach VM NICs on the host. Proceed with caution.
      3. The default distributed switch does not support disconnecting host uplinks.
