Add NFS Storage

Before you begin

  • Plan the mount path of the NFS storage in advance and configure access permissions for the corresponding directory on the NFS Server.
  • Check whether the NFS Server supports mount parameters. If it does, specify the parameters when adding NFS storage to optimize the performance, security, and reliability of the network file system.
  • Plan a dedicated storage network in advance to avoid network congestion.
  • Check the quantity and type limitations between the cluster and the data storage to be attached. For more information, see Clusters and Data Storage.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, choose Inventory > Data Storage.
  2. Select the target data center and click Actions > Add Data Storage.
  3. In the Add Data Storage dialog, configure the following options:

    Basic Information

    Option Description
Name Enter a name for the NFS storage.
Description Enter a brief description for the data storage.
    Type Select NFS.
Data Center Displays the data center that contains the NFS storage.

    Configurations

    Option Description
Cluster Select the cluster where the NFS storage will be attached.
Mount Path Enter the shared directory URL on the NFS Server. Supported format: NFS_Server_IP:/NFS_Share_folder.
Note: System directories such as /, /dev, /proc, /sys, /usr/bin, and /bin cannot be used. Using system directories might cause hosts to work improperly.
Mount Option Specify mount parameters on the NFS Server. For parameter values, see the -o option of mount. If the parameters configured here conflict with the settings on the NFS Server, the NFS Server settings take precedence.
Storage Network Enter the CIDR of the storage network specified for the NFS storage.
  4. Review the configuration and click OK.
