Distributed Storage Configuration Management

After distributed storage is added, you can edit its name and description, adjust the data storage overcommit ratio, update the password for ZHPS distributed storage, manage monitor nodes, or manage storage pools as needed.

Common Entries

You can manage distributed storage configuration from the following entries:

  • Go to the target distributed storage page and click Actions > Edit Name and Description.
  • Go to the target distributed storage page, click Actions > Modify Advanced Settings.
  • Go to the target ZHPS distributed storage page and click Actions > Update Password.
  • Go to the target distributed storage page and open the Monitoring Node tab.
  • Go to the target distributed storage page and open the Storage Pool tab.

Common Operations

Operation Description
Edit Name and Description Modify the name and description of distributed storage.
Modify Data Storage Overcommit Ratio

Controls the allocatable data storage space for virtual machines.

Calculation formula: Data storage allocatable capacity = [(actual capacity - reserved capacity) × overcommit ratio] - (threshold capacity + sum of all volumes allocated to virtual machines + snapshots + image cache + migration cache)

Update ZHPS Distributed Storage Password

Enter the New Password used by the storage platform, enter it again in Confirm Password, and then click OK.

Note: After the password is updated, the platform automatically reconnects the data storage. If the password does not match, the data storage cannot be reconnected. This operation updates only the connection password stored on the platform and does not change the password on the storage platform.
Add Monitor Node On the Monitoring Node tab, click Add Monitor Node, specify monitoring node management IP, SSH port, username, and password.
Modify Monitor Node Configuration On the Monitoring Node tab, click Actions for the target monitoring node and modify the SSH username, SSH password, SSH port, and Mon port as needed.
Delete Monitor Node On the Monitoring Node tab, click Actions > Delete Monitor Node for the target monitor node.
Note: Deleting monitoring nodes might cause the distributed storage cluster to lose connectivity. Proceed with caution.
Add Storage Pool On the Storage Pool tab, click Add Storage Pool, specify the pool name and display name.
Modify Storage Pool Display Name On the Storage Pool tab, click Actions > Set Display Name.
Delete Storage Pool On the Storage Pool tab, click Actions > Delete.
Note:
  • The image cache pool cannot be deleted.
  • A storage pool cannot be deleted if it contains data.
  • At least one storage pool must be retained.
