Costs and Budgets

In ZCenter, you can configure billing rules for resources in connected ZSphere environments and view their usage costs in one place. Billing rules define billing granularity and unit prices, billing groups allow different unit prices, and budgets set spending plans. Cost analysis and bills help you understand spending trends and check resource costs and payment status. Spending budgets and organization resource quotas are configured separately.

The features in this chapter are available under Cloud Operations Center > Cost Center. Before using them, activate Cloud Operations Center through license authorization. Platform administrators with the required permissions maintain billing rules, billing groups, and budgets. The scope of cost queries depends on the current view and permissions. If billing is already configured and you only need to review costs, go directly to cost analysis or bills.

Manage Billing Groups

Create and maintain billing groups, associate them with ZSphere hosts and data stores, and configure unit prices by group in resource billing rules.

Use billing groups to configure different unit prices in resource billing rules. Administrators first maintain groups, then associate them with hosts or data stores and select the corresponding groups in billing items. A resource's billing group and owning organization are configured separately.

Platform administrators with the required permissions perform the following operations in ZCenter. Before you begin, verify that Cloud Operations Center has been activated through license authorization. Before assigning a group to a resource, also ensure that the target ZSphere environment has been connected, its connection is normal, and the target resource has been synchronized.

Create a Billing Group

  1. In the navigation pane, choose Cloud Operations Center > Cost Center > Billing Group and click Create Billing Group.
  2. Enter a Name and Description that explain the group's purpose so that it is easy to identify when associating resources and configuring unit prices.
  3. Check the information and click Confirm Creation.
  4. Return to the list and check the new group's name, description, and creation information.

If a suitable group already exists, use it directly for resource associations and unit price configuration.

Bills help you verify resource usage costs and their ownership. Perform the following operations in ZCenter. Before you begin, activate Cloud Operations Center through license authorization and ensure that your account has the required permissions to view or maintain the corresponding bills.

Choose a Bill Entry Point and Query Scope

In the navigation pane, choose Cloud Operations Center > Cost Center, then select an entry point based on what you need to check:

Entry PointPurpose
My billsQuery resource bills assigned to you. Queries use the currently logged-in user and do not include all resources that the user has managed or operated on.
Bill SummaryView bill totals, settlement status, and unpaid amounts by organization and billing period within your management scope. Open an organization's bill to view resource costs and payment records.
Bill DetailsQuery resource expense records within your management scope, locating the bills to check by organization, date, and resource name.

Platform administrators with the required permissions can view bills across the platform. Organization administrators view bills for their organization and its subordinate organizations, while regular organization users view their own bills. Bills in your personal and management scopes may contain the same records. Avoid counting them twice when calculating totals.

Query Organization and Resource Expenses

To first review an organization's expenses for a billing period, start with Bill Summary:

  1. Select the target organization and billing period, then find the corresponding summary record.
  2. Check the Organization Name, Billing Period, Total Bill (CNY), Settled?, and Unpaid Amount.
  3. Click the organization name to open its bill details, and review the period's resource costs under Resource Bill.

To find a resource's expenses directly, open Bill Details. To check only your own expenses, open My bills.

  1. Set the query date range, enter the target resource name in the name search box, and search. When viewing bills within your management scope, you can also select the organization to query.
  2. Filter the Cloud Platform column for ZStack ZSphere, and check the record's resource name, organization, expense type, and time.
  3. Review the record's Total Amount (CNY) and use its CPU, memory, and disk information to confirm the target.
