Problem description

The log level filter may match keywords such as error, trace, or trace_id in the message text instead of matching only the actual log level field.

Symptoms

• After TRACE is selected, a result may only contain trace or trace_id in its message text.
• After ERROR is selected, a result may only contain error in its error description, and the log itself may not be at the ERROR level.

Impact

Filter results for ERROR, TRACE, and other levels may be inaccurate, causing deviations in the log count and issue assessment.

Workaround

• Select only one log source first to narrow the result set.
• Open the log details and check the actual Level field.
• During troubleshooting, sample the actual log content instead of relying only on the filtered count.
• Base important conclusions on the level field in the details, not on whether the message text contains ERROR or TRACE.
