Issue/Introduction

This article helps troubleshoot management service startup and database user login failures after ZSphere change_ip.

Symptoms

  • The management service cannot start after change_ip changes the management node IP address.
  • The error indicates that the zstack user cannot log in to the database, and login still fails after the password is updated manually.

Environment

  • Product: ZVF
  • Version: 4.10.26
  • Component: ZSphere
  • Affected object: management node
  • Scenario: For management plane and upgrade issues, confirm the current version, deployment type, storage type, and operation timeline.

Possible causes

  • After the management node IP address changes, the database connection address, authorized host, or configuration is not synchronized.
  • Database user authorization, password, or connection information in configuration files is inconsistent.
  • Some services or configurations were not updated successfully during change_ip.

Resolution

Perform the following checks in order, and record the affected object, occurrence time, complete error message, and current status.

  1. Confirm management IP, VIP, database address, and host name changes before and after change_ip.
  2. Check the database connection address and zstack user authorization scope in management service configuration.
  3. Review change_ip execution logs and database connection errors in management-server.log.
  4. Before correcting database connection information, back up the database and configuration files to avoid expanding the impact through repeated manual password changes.

Remediation

  1. Using the backup taken before the change, verify and restore the correspondence of management IP, VIP, database address, and host name in management service configuration.
  2. After confirming that the zstack user authorization scope in the database matches the current management node address, restart the management service.

Verification

  • The database connection and management service start normally, and logs no longer report that the zstack user cannot log in.
  • The management platform can be accessed normally and perform basic management operations.
