Issue/Introduction
This article describes how to troubleshoot a host network port whose status is down. It applies to the initial diagnosis and resolution of similar issues in ZStack Cloud.
Environment
- Product: ZCF
- Component: Cloud
- Version: 3.x-5.5.30
Possible causes
The host hardware, optical module, or NIC might have failed.
Resolution
- Sign in to the host and run the following commands to check the system logs for abnormalities. The common system log path is
/var/log/messages. If the current environment uses a custom log path, use the actual path.
[root@localhost ~]# dmesg -T | grep -Ei "error|failed"
[root@localhost ~]# vim /var/log/messages
- Sign in to the server out-of-band management page and check for hardware alerts.
- If the preceding checks identify a hardware failure, you can follow the standard power-off procedure to power off the server and replace the failed hardware.
