Issue/Introduction

This article describes how to troubleshoot an Ubuntu VM instance whose password cannot be changed online because qemu-guest-agent is outdated. It applies to the initial diagnosis and resolution of similar issues in ZStack Cloud.

Environment

  • Product: ZCF
  • Component: Cloud
  • Version: 3.x-5.5.30

Resolution

  1. Download the qemu-ga 2.5 offline DEB package.

To obtain the qemu-ga 2.5 offline DEB package, contact official technical support.

  1. Upload the package to /root on the VM instance.
  2. Sign in to the VM instance operating system and run the following command to install the qemu-ga 2.5 offline DEB package:
  [root@localhost ~]# dpkg -i qemu-ga-2.5.deb  //qemu-ga-2.5.deb is the downloaded qemu-ga 2.5 offline DEB package. Use the actual file name.
  1. Sign in to the cloud platform and try changing the password again.
