Issue/Introduction

This article helps troubleshoot a missing Huawei Hi1822 SP680 NIC driver in ZSphere.

Symptoms

  • After installation or host addition, the Hi1822 SP680 NIC is not detected or does not work normally.
  • Network configuration cannot select the target NIC, so the management network or service network cannot be completed.

Environment

  • Product: ZVF
  • Version: 4.10.10-kylinsp3
  • Component: ZSphere
  • Affected object: NIC driver
  • Scenario: For host and hardware issues, confirm the current version, deployment type, storage type, and operation timeline.

Possible causes

  • The current ISO or kernel version does not include the corresponding Huawei NIC driver.
  • The driver version does not match the OS or kernel version.
  • The NIC module was not restarted or reloaded after driver installation.

Resolution

Perform the following checks in order, and record the affected object, occurrence time, complete error message, and current status.

  1. Confirm the NIC model, PCI ID, OS version, kernel version, and ZSphere version.
  2. Confirm that the driver package matches the current kernel version. Contact ZStack official technical support if this cannot be confirmed.
  3. In a test environment, verify driver installation, module loading, NIC detection, and link status.
  4. Before installing the driver in production, define a rollback plan to avoid management network interruption.

Remediation

  1. Use a supported driver package that matches the current NIC PCI ID, OS version, and kernel version.
  2. Complete driver installation and verification in a test environment before implementation in production during a change window. Contact ZStack official technical support if the compatible package is unconfirmed.

Verification

  • The system detects the Hi1822 SP680 NIC, the driver module loads normally, and the NIC link is normal.
  • Management network and service network connectivity remain normal.
