Issue/Introduction
This article describes how to troubleshoot slow image creation from a VM instance. It applies to the initial diagnosis and resolution of similar issues in ZStack Cloud.
Environment
- Product: ZCF
- Component: Cloud
- Version: 3.x-5.5.30
Possible causes
Primary storage is Ceph, while image storage is ImageStore.
Note:
When using Ceph primary storage, it is recommended that you add Ceph image storage.
Resolution
- Sign in to a MON node and run the following command to manually export the image from Ceph image storage:
[root@localhost ~]# rbd export pool-uuid/uuid /root/ZStack.image- Run the following command to convert the exported raw image to qcow2 format:
[root@localhost ~]# qemu-img convert -f raw /root/ZStack.image -O qcow2 /root/ZStack.qcow2- Upload the exported qcow2 image to ImageStore image storage.
