Issue/Introduction
This article describes how to troubleshoot a volume on local storage that cannot be accessed normally. It applies to the initial diagnosis and resolution of similar issues in ZStack Cloud.
Environment
- Product: ZCF
- Component: Cloud
- Version: 3.x-5.5.30
Symptoms
The following command shows that disk fragmentation exceeds 99%:
[root@localhost ~]# xfs_db -c frag -r /dev/sdc1
Possible causes
Fragmentation causes the disk to deadlock, making the volume inaccessible.
Resolution
Note:
Before performing the following operations, plan a maintenance window, confirm the affected VM instance scope, and complete necessary data backup and rollback preparations.
- In Global Settings, set Global VM Instance HA Switch to false.
Whether HA is enabled or disabled for an individual VM instance is strictly controlled by and remains consistent with the global switch.
- Stop all VM instances, confirm that they are stopped, and restart the host.
- Run the following command on the host to defragment the disk:
[root@localhost ~]# xfs_fsr /dev/sdc1
- In Global Settings, set Local Storage Volume Preallocation Policy to falloc.
- Use cloud platform version
4.7.21to migrate the volume. The volume provisioning type follows the provisioning type of the destination primary storage.
