Issue/Introduction

This article helps troubleshoot cases where a ZSphere distributed switch cannot bind a bond NIC.

Symptoms

• The target bond cannot be bound when the bond for a distributed switch is changed.
• The corresponding bond NIC cannot be selected when a distributed switch is deleted and rebuilt.

• Scenario: For network and switch issues, confirm the current version, deployment type, storage type, and operation timeline.

Possible causes

• Earlier versions have limitations in bond synchronization or display with distributed switches.
• The underlying bond configuration differs from the platform record.
• Host network facts have not been refreshed, or historical port groups remain.

Resolution

Perform the following checks in order, and record the affected object, occurrence time, complete error message, and current status.

1. Confirm the ZSphere version, target bond name, member NICs, and current switch binding relationship.
2. Check that the underlying bond is UP and that its member ports are consistent, and confirm any difference between the platform UI and underlying status.
3. Refresh host network facts or synchronize host network information again.
4. For earlier versions, evaluate an upgrade first or ask ZStack official technical support to confirm a CLI remediation path. Avoid directly deleting a production switch.

Remediation

1. After confirming that the target bond and member NICs are normal, synchronize host network information again and bind the bond again.
2. The source indicates that this issue is related to earlier versions. Evaluate an upgrade first in an earlier-version environment, or ask ZStack official technical support to confirm an executable remediation path.

Verification

• The distributed switch can select and bind the target bond NIC.
• After binding, host network connectivity and connectivity of existing port groups are normal.
