Issue/Introduction

This article helps troubleshoot failures in API connectivity validation when adding a target environment for ZSphere migration.

Symptoms

  • A ZMigrate synchronization task fails the connectivity test after the target ZSphere environment is added.
  • The page reports that the target environment API connection cannot be verified and indicates that the target environment address, account, port, and management service status must be checked.

Environment

  • Product: ZVF
  • Version: 4.x, 5.x
  • Component: ZMigrate
  • Affected object: ZMigrate
  • Scenario: For migration and cloning issues, confirm the current version, deployment type, storage type, and operation timeline.

Possible causes

  • The API port between the ZMigrate management service and the ZSphere management node is unreachable, or the configured address is inconsistent.
  • The target environment account, permissions, certificate, port, or reverse proxy configuration is abnormal.
  • The migration management service is abnormal, so the connectivity test is not initiated or times out.

Remediation

Perform the following checks in order, and record the affected object, occurrence time, complete error message, and current status.

  1. Confirm that the ZSphere management address, protocol, port, account, and password match the current UI login entry.
  2. On the ZMigrate node, verify network connectivity to the ZSphere management node and reachability of the API port.
  3. Check the ZMigrate management service and ZSphere management service status, and record the logs corresponding to the failure time.
  4. If HTTPS or a non-default port is used, confirm that the migration tool has been updated with the port and certificate trust configuration.

Resolution

  1. Correct the ZSphere management address, protocol, port, or account information configured in the migration tool so that it matches the actual management entry.
  2. For HTTPS or non-default port scenarios, complete the certificate trust and network access configuration, and then run the connectivity validation again.

Verification

  • The migration tool can successfully validate API connectivity to the target environment.
  • A migration task can be created and target resources load normally.
