Issue
Use this article to troubleshoot storage-page exceptions caused by importing an HCI license after ZSphere takes over ZStone.
Symptoms
- After importing a formal HCI license, ZSphere storage service resources cannot be opened or operated.
- The page reports a license exception and requires handling on the storage page.
Environment
- Product: ZVF
- Version: 4.10.26
- Component: ZSphere
- Affected object: license/storage page
- Scenario: Permission and authorization issues. Confirm the current version, deployment topology, storage type, and operation timeline.
Possible causes
- The ZSphere and ZStone/ZCE-X license types, license scope, or takeover state do not match.
- After the formal license is imported, storage-side license information is not synchronized or validation fails.
- HCI license boundaries differ from independent-storage license boundaries.
Resolution
Perform the following checks in sequence, and record the affected objects, occurrence time, complete error messages, and current state.
- Record the ZSphere and ZStone/ZCE-X versions and the imported license type.
- Confirm the product applicability, node count, capacity, and validity period of the license file.
- Check the license synchronization state after ZSphere takes over storage and the storage-side license state.
- Before replacing a license, retain the original license file and import record to avoid an unclear state caused by repeated overwrites.
Remediation
- Confirm that the imported license applies to the current post-takeover product, node count, and capacity range.
- If the license type or synchronization state is abnormal, restore a confirmed working license state and contact ZStack technical support to confirm the license-handling procedure.
Verification
- The storage page loads normally and the license state matches the actual deployment scope.
- After license import, management-service logs no longer contain related license exceptions.
