Issue/Introduction

This article describes how to troubleshoot failures when adding an image by URL. It applies to the initial diagnosis and resolution of similar issues in ZStack Cloud.

Environment

Product: ZCF
Component: Cloud
Version: 3.x-5.5.30

Symptoms

After an image download link is copied from the public network, adding the image to the cloud platform by URL fails.

Possible causes

No DNS server is configured on image storage, so the domain name in the URL cannot be resolved.

Resolution

Sign in to image storage over SSH.
Run the following command to edit /etc/resolv.conf, and add the following content:

  [root@localhost ~]# vim /etc/resolv.conf
  nameserver 114.114.114.114

Note:

Configure the DNS address based on the network policy of the current environment. If public DNS is not allowed, use an available internal DNS server.
