Issue/Introduction

This article helps troubleshoot cases where ZSphere UI NIC status differs from underlying system status.

Symptoms

  • UI hardware information shows the NIC status as DOWN.
  • When checked on the underlying host, the NIC link status is UP.

Environment

  • Product: ZVF
  • Version: 4.10.7
  • Component: ZSphere
  • Affected object: host network
  • Scenario: For network and switch issues, confirm the current version, deployment type, storage type, and operation timeline.

Possible causes

  • Host network facts have not been refreshed, or the collection cache is abnormal.
  • Synchronization between the management service and host agent is delayed.
  • NIC renaming, bond member changes, or driver state changes were not collected in time.

Resolution

Perform the following checks in order, and record the affected object, occurrence time, complete error message, and current status.

  1. On the underlying host, use read-only checks such as ip link and ethtool to confirm the NIC state.
  2. Obtain or refresh HostNetworkFacts again in the ZSphere CLI or API.
  3. Compare the UI display time with the most recent host agent synchronization time.
  4. If the states remain inconsistent after refresh, collect hostUuid, the NIC name, management logs, and agent logs.

Remediation

  1. After confirming that the underlying NIC link status is normal, obtain host network facts again.
  2. If the states remain inconsistent after refresh, retain host and NIC information and contact ZStack official technical support to further confirm the synchronization issue.

Verification

  • After refresh, the UI NIC status is consistent with the actual link status on the underlying host.
  • Management service and host agent logs no longer show the same network information synchronization issue.
