Issue/Introduction
This article describes how to troubleshoot a VM instance that is automatically paused. It applies to the initial diagnosis and resolution of similar issues in ZStack Cloud.
Environment
- Product: ZCF
- Component: Cloud
- Version: 3.x-5.5.30
Possible causes
When a local storage volume, the host system volume, or primary storage runs out of capacity, the resulting VM instance I/O error causes the VM instance to be paused automatically.
Resolution
- Log in to the host and run
virsh domblkerror $vm_uuidto view details.
- If a local storage volume is full, you can release host space on the corresponding primary storage as needed by removing unused workload VM instances or volumes, or by deleting logs.
- If the host system volume is full, delete unnecessary files or logs.
- If primary storage is full, delete unused workload VM instances or volumes.
Note:
Before deleting VM instances, volumes, or logs, confirm that the objects are no longer in use and complete necessary data backups.
